Executive Summary of Events for the Lunar Constabulary

Reported by Det. Lt. Inori Matheman

{Customary Lunar Army Bureaucratic B.S. Deleted for Brevity}
{Customary Lunar sucking up to one's Superior officer}
{Deleted for confidentiality}

A. During the dates of this Report, the Constabulary has investigated the following crimes:

* (1) Theft of King Blackmor's Royal jewels Jewels totaling a reported 40-50 thousand silver were stolen from Blackmor's treasury during the last reporting session. During the current period, the Investigation into the theft continued, with the constables following the trail of the Trickster who stole them with an eye-witness from the Lismelder in tow. The trickster was followed into the hills to the North, and found to have killed seven Lismelder tribesmen, and some local Colymar herdsmen (see crime (2) below. He was found to have three accomplices traveling with him, one of whom is reported to be a white dragonnewt. The local experts claim that no such thing (as a white dragonnewt) exists, but this was from a Sartarite. The trickster seems to have distributed the gems among the local populance, and the King has been informed, although it seems many of the gems have already been sold to Lunar merchants. With the location of the gems, this case is officially closed, with the suspects being pursued in case (2) below for the crime of murder.

* (2) Theft and destruction of the King's Scroll and Murder Along with the King's Jewels, a scroll given to him by a "passing merchant" was also stolen in the last report period. This scroll found during this reporting period, or at least parts of it were, along with the bodies of seven Lismelder tribesmen. The scroll had been destroyed, and so its return is uneccessary. Det. Yasna has requested that we seek out the rest of the scroll, and the other inspectors concurred, so were are looking for the rest of the scroll while we pursue the suspects in the murders (the same suspects from (1) above.) Further investigation revealed that some Sartar tribesmen had been killed by the suspects as well. Ins. 7th class Ahmet proposed that we show the scroll around, and ask about it, to both find the rest of the scroll, and hopefully lure out the suspects. I decided this was a sound course of action, and so we are following up on the crime in this way. We took the scroll down to a Lankor Myh at Old Top, and had him perform some detection rituals on it, which are still in the proccess of being completed (see B1 below). This case is still open.

* Murder of Lunar citizens and destruction of Lunar property at the Lunar House On return to Runegate fort, we found that (Sun Boy) had returned victorious from his escapades into the swamp(see C1 below.) A messenger arrived on horse back saying he had seen Broo and various other things roaming around the Lunar House, three Days before. We immediately set off to investigate. On arrival at the house, we found a shadow spirit inhabiting the courtyard (NOT a shade I am told) and various broo and "spirit broo" roaming around. Investigation revealed that some local girls were employed in the house, and had not been seen in weeks, and that there may be a secret "back entrance" to the house. Scouts were left to look for this entrance while the rest of the constables went to find a shaman to destroy the shadow spirit. The shaman was found, but did not provide any assistance(see B2 below.) Upon our return, the scouts had found two (2) potential entrances to the keep. Both were investigated, and one was found to lead farther in, possibly to the keep. Exploration revealed three coffins, which detected as containig enemies. Consensus revealed everyone thought they were vampires, and so it was decided to open the coffin and kill them with our various silvered weapons. Opening the coffins proved difficult, and when they were opened, a mist emerged. This lead every one to two conclusions: these were vampires, and we couldn't handle them alone. We returned to Runegate to get reinforcements to return to destroy the broo infestation and the (potentially related) trio of vampires. (Sun Boy) agreed, and is now checking out the owners of the house to make sure they are not registered Lunar Vampire Citizens, before he proceeds to destroy them. This case is still opened, and that is where this report ends.

B. Lesser crimes and potential leads.
* (1) Potential of revolutionaries on/in Old Top When we took the scroll(A2 above) to old top, we found they had an underground complex, and many potential Orlanthi worshippers around. The Constabulary as a whole agrees that this may be a rebel base. We will investigat further when time allows.
* (2) Shaman attack on Lunar citizen The shaman consulted in A3 above, aside from being uncooperative, bound a pain spirit of some sort to my (Lt. Matheman's) foot. This has the potential to be considered an asssault, and may be dealt with in the future, if the oppurtunity presents itself.
* (3) Trader assault and resisting arrest In one of the villages along the river, during the investigation of A2 above, a trader approached us asking about the scroll we were carrying. We attempted to retain him for questioning, and he refused and ran. In his escape, he assaulted Ins. 7th class Ahmet, although he did not wound the Inspector. The Trader was eventually retained, and questioned. since he did not seem to know anything about the scroll, Ins. 7th class Ahmet dropped the assault charges, and all of his Lunar paperwork was in order, he was allowed to leave with a warning.

C. Administrative notes.
* (1) I performed the requisite sucking up to (Sun Boy) and Det. Yasna and I were given part of the loot from the recent expedition. * I have been informed that our resident spell-teacher, Ins. 6th class Severus is not allowed to teach spell to the other constables because they are not part of his "Congregation" I would request that now and in the future, all constables following any of the seven mothers, or the Red Goddess be considered as part of one anothers "Congregation" for spiritual and religious matters, as we are often away from civilization, with only each other to rely on.
* (2) I have split the rank of Inspector into 7 classes, with 7 being the lowest, and one being the highest. All current Inspectors have been assigned a class, and all future Inspectors should begin at 7 unless there are other extenuating circumstances. The seven classes are in honor of the Seven Mothers of the Red Goddess, although the individual classes are not associated with a particular mother.
* (3) Our Sable rider has requested a discharge, and I believe it may be a good idea to let him go, as I do not want any people in the constabulary who do not want to be here, but I am loathe to deplete our numbers. I am therefore requesting another constable to replace our sable rider. I will not grant his discharge until I recieve a replacement, or I am ordered to.
