After the Malia incident things calmed down for a while. Det. Roneer of the Red Nose, a Praxian Sable Rider arrived. It was soon determined that Inspector Doblian was in fact missing.
However, before a search could be instituted, Prince Khordavu, brother to the Emperor of Dara Happa arrived. He was disturbed that the Lunar garrisons could be attacked in such a devious manner, so he gathered all of the detectives together and ordered them to come up with a plan next morninig to round up 100 rebel Sartarites and hang them.
Det. Yasna arranged to be assigned as one of the Prince's advisors. She managed to explain to the Prince that in fact the disease was caused by some Tarshite exiles, not Sartarite rebels, and that the shaman who was in charge of the operation was caught and killed.
This prompted him to make major modifications to his plans. Instead of executing 100 Sartarite rebels, the "Beautiful" Chalana Arroy priestess would be brought to verify that the fort was free of disease, and the Prince would go off and kill the local Orlanthi Hero that was being so boastful. The detectives were assigned to come up with a plan next morinig to accomplish this.
A plan was drawn up that involved posting a challange (several hundred pages long) to the local Orlanthi hero, while the detectives went off to retrieve the Chalana Arroy priestess. Since the local horses were causing the Prince's gryphon some irritation, the horses were assigned to the detectives and the detectives were supposed to move to Swan.
On the way to
The Chalana Arroy priestess was located and aggreed to go back to Runegate to examine Mulcius who had suddenly become ill. On the way she fixed the damage the Broos had caused to the local populace, and became rather dissheviled. Inspector Ahmet tried unsuccessfully to convince her to improve her appearance, but the Prince decided he was indisposed, probably from killing too many Orlanthi heros, and would not be able to see her that day.
The detectives took advantage of the opportunity to return to Swan.
