Things started out with a new commander at Runegate. He was a Yelm Dara Happan with his own ideas about how things should be run. One thing he apparently wanted to do was round up 100 Sartarites involved in the poisoning last session. The main problem was that there weren't any Sartarites involved (things appeared to be linked to Tarshite exiles). Yasna was able to get appointed to the staff and attend staff meetings (apparently since she was pretty). She was able to enlighten the commander who decided that, since no Sartarites were involved, then killing a hundred of them would be a bad idea (there was some impression that the biggest problem was with the advisors). Instead, a decision was made to bring the "beautiful" healer from fort to Runegate to show their appreciation and to arrange a challenge so the commander could defeat him in single battle (the party was give 24 hours to come up with a plan to carry this out). While she was there, Yasna was able to torpedo a plan to make all female constables perform more "proper" duties (cooking, cleaning, taking care of children, etc.), pointing out how this violates some of the teachings of the Red Moon Goddess and the Conquering Daughter. She didn't attempt to stop plans to move all horse outside of the fort so they wouldn't tempt the commander's Griffon or make sure that all latrines had proper Dara Happan "clearances".

The party set out to get the healer while Inspector Ahmet stayed behind to "formulate and present" the plan we had already put into action. On the way, we came across some "bleating" sheep. Looking around, we found a house where everyone had been killed and befouled by Broos. Tracking didn't find anything, but Yasna went down to the next house and found farmer holed up inside. They told her which direction they had gone. Det. Rockfrug and Edwardo's new character (name?) were able to track the Broos after that and eventually, after passing another group of farmers who indicated that they had been "bothering" their oxen, we caught up with them. Tavar and Det. Kaleel tried to circle around to cut off any escape, but the Broos heard them. We opened up with missile fire with modest success. Then while Tavar fiddled with a Darkwall he was hoping would cut off their escape, the rest of the party waded in a chopped them up. One tired running away and was hacked down from behind. The bodies were then burned. A group of Sartarite warrior happened by on a mission to kill the Broos. Since we had already done it, they didn't feel displeasure at seeing us.

During this period, Inspector Ahmet presented his plan. The first part was that our party was to go off an convince the healer to visit. He also proposed that a proclamation (with letter an inch high) with all the commanders titles be made up (more of a banner) and posted. There was much brown nosing.

We went and got the healer. We told her Inorri Matheman was sick (he was, he had made himself sick) and needed her help. [Actually, Inorri is the Lieutenant and was not at the Fort. The sick one was Administrator Mulcius. -md] Since she was already going most they way (she needed to check on the Broos) she agreed to go along. While we were there, Det. Rockfrug asked the Colymar King about Hezbod Doblian (see last weeks summaries) and was told he though he was headed off to lands to the SE of Dragon's pass.

The healer head back with us. On the way she stopped and pronounced that the oxen would have be destroyed and birthed a calf while she was there. This was advantageous to the degree that the delay meant that we didn't get back sooner than we should have (given that we technically didn't leave until after the plan was presented to the commander). The down side was that it left her covered in blood and such (and the commander was expecting a beautiful woman). Det. Kaleel was able to convince her to wash, but she was unwilling to make any effort to make herself more attractive (since, in her view, she was their to tend a sick man). The party tried various tricks to get her to clean herself up, to no avail. Eventually, we just gave up and left to see about the challenge, which no one had yet accepted.

We travelled to Boldhome. While we were there, a Sartarite campion came forward to battle the commander (and was apparently quickly dispatched, when we got back, there were some questions about whether one couldn't find better opposition). While we there, guy's contact told him that Hezbod Doblian had gone off to lands to the southeast and was apparently involved in the slave trade. We travelled to the place and found out that not only was he involved in the slave trade, but he was an actual slave being traded.
