So when she grew up, as an act of rebellion she joined the army. Her father's friends promptly got her a nice safe clerical position in Glamour, and tried to match her up with eligible Carmanian and Pelorian minor nobles. Some of them liked her, in fact, as a change from the usual type of women they met.

But she was not happy in Glamour, precisely because she was stationed there as a favor. As an act of rebellion, she volunteered for this.

She has two relevant contacts, though potentially many more if she ever forgives them for supporting her father and mother against her. Orbius, a mildly indulgent uncle, and middle ranking secret policeman, watches over her and tries to either keep her out of trouble or warn her of plots by her less idealistic foes against her. Gainas is a Colymar tribesman, who she talked her father into allowing her to buy as a slave and then freed. Gainas knows the terrain, can supply Sartarite Custom skill and serves as a source in finding out what the tribesman really think. He is not trusted with any military secrets by the resistance, and wouldn't inform on them anyway, but you never know another faction of Lunars might think he would.
