Eastern Mountains: The region around Lake Maggiore is a forested vale surrounded by mountains, still generally wild and still filled with wild game. The local tribesmen survive by hunting and some fishing, while the Imperial colonists farm the limited cultivated land immediately around the Lake. The Northern Trade Route connects the Far East with the Potola Mountain Kingdom to the northwest.
Algheri (city 6500): Ancient city strategically located at the intersection of Lake Maggiore and the Northern Trade Route to the east. Considered the easternmost city of the Empire by the inhabitants of the city, the people of the city still consider themselves Imperial citizens.
Brine Town (800):
Fort Algheri: New stone fort under construction and designed to be similar to Fort Iantle. Currently controlled by the Potola Mountain Kingdom and garrisoned to protect and escort caravans travelling through the Eastern Mountains region.
Fort Iantle: Ancient crude stone fortress built and rebuilt over several hundred years. Currently controlled by the Potola Mountain Kingdom and garrisoned to protect and escort caravans entering the mountains.
Lake Maggiore: Alpine lake in the Eastern Mountains filled with fish and the center of a significant colony of Imperial citizens, located mainly in the city of Algheri, but also in a dozen towns around the lake.
Northern Trade Route: Northernmost path of the trade route linking the known lands with the Far East. The other three routes connect to the goblin clan areas and handle the other 60% of the total traffic. The wealth flowing through Algheri and the Potola Kingdom due to the trade traffic overshadows all other local commerce, including fishing and farming.
xx Valley: Remote alpine river valley mainly inhabited by the Semper Tribe.
xx Valley: Alpine river valley around Lake xx and mainly inhabited by the Yuli Tribe.
Yelna Temple: Actually an ancient temple to the goddess now known as Amaran. The Yuli tribe arrived and took over the original temple from the Semper tribe about 800-1000 years ago. Come of the writing still remains in the cavern below the temple telling of the times when the Semper tribe was there. When the original temple collapsed in a earthquake about 500-600 years ago, a new columned temple was built by the Yuli tribe on the slopes of a mountain with a clear view to the eastern horizon. Now the temple is in ruins again after the Yuli discontinued worship of Amara as a god.
