Introduction
Innumerable groups follow variations of the spiritual traditions. Mystics, shamen,
witches, etc. all represent seperate ways to interact with the Spirit World
and Fairie.
The Dolmen: Magical stone table in Fairie grove on Rimigi. Central place for the Sisters of the Stone, a local mystic sisterhood. They pursue cooperative methods of mystical power use and have no fixed leader. They feel self-important spirits and shaman pursue the wrong path of unity with the spirit world, for pursing power in the material world is counter to unifying with the spirit world.
The Dolmen Women: Males can join the sisters of the Dolmen, but must be castrated and are not allowed to stay on the island of Rimigi. These Dolmen Women are some of the wandering mystics all who travel all over the Inland Sea. The Dolmen Women demand male children with malformed genitalia (for induction into the Sisterhood). They beg for alms and generally free-load off of everyone. It is considered bad luck to kill or threaten them. They put curses on those who do not cater to them, but they are generally harmless.
Gantraism or Iantlism: Magical tradition of the Bhutan culture. Before Gantraism, the Bhutani followed the Literate Mystic tradition, heavily influenced by pre-faithful beliefs of the Vercen. Gantraism was founded by the Gamii Lama who after being exiled by the early rulers of Bhutan, eventually went to the Iantle fairie nexus and learned the traditions and magic of the Spirit Goblins. He took this magic back and overthrew the Theocracy based on worship of the local spirits. The Gamii Lama wrote down sacred texts, called the Gantra. These secret texts are keep by the "priests" (shamen) named after Gamii Lama and called Lamas. The Lamas lead the worship of the populace. This faith is Demon worship of goblin demons to oppose the powerful spirits of the moutainous region. Note: this magical tradition has many beliefs and similarities with Soratraism (a goblin Faithful belief.)
Guardian of the Well of Souls (4 CP): Spirit watching over the Summoning Site.
Literate Mystics: Ancient tradition of the Vercen culutre of the far south. They conducted elaborate ceremonies and rituals and had secret texts called the Books of the Spirits that enumerated all the known spirits and much information about Fairie. The spread of the Faithful absorbed the Vercen and their Literate Mysticism. Copies and translations of the Books of the Spirits occassionally turn up and are highly prized among Diabolist Faithful, any Mystics that can read, and those wishing to learn about Fairie.
Lucia the Oak Demon Queen (4 CP): Attended by 6 Raven Witch Knights
Sisters of the Stone: See the Dolmen above.
Vara-Harak the Great Shaman: Most powerful member of the Varamai, a remote human tribe in the mountains near the Tapenga river. Power mad and semi-immortal, Vara-Harak demands support from the Varamai and fears they are out to overthrow him.
Varamai: Tribe of several hundred humans living in the remote Varamai valley surrounded by the Whiskered Helm Tribe in the lowlands. The speak the unrelated tongue of Varamai, but rumors say that several goblin shamen live with the tribe. Very old tales tell of the giants that used to travel the mountains here and were killed with special enchantments by the once clan-sized Varamai. Strangely, the Apostle Vamari came from this tribe (when they were a clan) but they claim to not know of him.
