4th: Ambush at Lemu Oasis,

Picked members of the Lambo Action Force are sent on a secret ambush
mission at the Lemu Oasis, deep in the Eastern Wastes. The prestige
and wealth of the clan will be significantly affected by this
mission. A mysterious guide meets the party on the way to Lemu.

Mission: Kill all members of a specific caravan that will travel through Lemu Oasis and bring back all the gold that caravan is carrying. This mission is secret to everyone but Grandmother and the Watcher (and the party, of course).
The Gold: The gold consists of about 200 ENC of minted coins. If the gold cannot be returned, the coins that it is in must be melted first. Preference is that the guide does not get killed.
The Guide: The party has a sign/countersign for the guide. They will meet the guide at the Village of Lake Rur, about a week travel east of clan lands on the trade road. The guide is a newt economist from Melbin. He will explain more details about the mission an answer any questions the party has.
Lemu Oasis: Lemu Oasis is about two weeks travel from Lake Rur. The Vizier of Lemu governs the 500 or so farmers and herders that live at the Oasis. The Vizier has at least a dozen assistants (adepts) and about 75 light cavalry. The Vizier and his fores live in Lemu Fortress.
The Caravan: The caravan should arrive at the Oasis about 2-4 weeks after the party can get there. The caravan should be 30-50 camels and probably at least 40 guards. The party may need to hire/bribe locals to help wipe out the caravan (see supplies below.)
Supplies: The charcters will start with 15 mules, but will switch to 10 camels at Lake Rur. Spells: each character will have a spell of their choice at 12 points total and 2 more at 10. Each character will also have the following potions: 2 x Poison 5, 2 x Heal 2, 1 x Heal 3. The mules will be carrying 12 weeks of assorted supplies for each character and a total of 100 ENC of gold.
Departure: The party meets with Grandmother and the Watcher prior to the mission. Grandmother wishes the party success and reminds them this is a secret mission. The Grandmother also reminds the party that this mission is critical to the clan and if success can be acheived, everything else is secondary. The Watcher is available for any questions.
