Adventure Leads
This campaign will be one of player choice. The first session will probably be chosen with less player input than normal. But normally, due to the large number of leads, I suggest the players email each other during the week to determine which leads look interesting. I will retire some leads and post new leads when needed. If I am included in the emails, I can answer questions and provide more information about a lead that interests the group.
Farm Adventure Leads
The party is sent down to the farm, the Gambino family estates in the
countryside to gain experience and help clean up the small threats
troubling these villages and towns. Sheriff Hagimon the Proud is a
vassal of the Baron, but he is definitely in the pocket of Godfather.
Sheriff Hagimon has many problems he tells the party about. The
Sheriff has relationships with several of the town and village
knights and he has his personal force of deputies and militia.
Note about adventure action: Beware of traps. Many groups will construct field traps and booby traps in their areas, either made normally or magically enhanced. The level and complication of traps will be far in excess of our recent campaigns.
Hot Lead: Rescue of the Maiden Yuella
Sir Auron of Ginna is engaged to the maiden Yuella, daughter of Baron
Perriga of the Barony of Mannerin. She arrived by cart for the big
wedding day in Ginna and a band of gnolls kidnapped the caravan and
stole her away. Sir Auron, the Sheriff, and Baron Moshemi would all
pay to see her safely returned. Sheriff Hagimon is willing to give
the party an exclusive on the information know so far, but he wants
to know if the party will immediately pursue this lead.
The caravan was assaulted between Humera and Tamron on an old path. Sheriff Hagimon's best tracker suspects that the gnolls who assaulted the caravan have joined a group of gnolls that live in an ruined village north of Lisen. The scout also saw troll tracks in the area and the wheel ruts of the carts of the caravan. The scout could not get close to the village for fear of being spotted, but did smell what was probably horse meat.
Sheriff Hagimon has concern that these gnolls were either lucky or have some inside knowledge. Since inside knowledge is so obvious, he has focused his efforts at questioning Sir Auron's staff and associates, so far with no success. Prelate Diamon of Sephia has joined to assist in this little inquisition. Only one servant has perished by the time the party is aware of this lead.
1. Goblin Construction. Parties of goblins keep arriving in
the area for a couple days and continue construction on a large patch
of ground northeast of Quin. Their purpose is not understood, but
they have carved trenches into the ground and tranported a large
number of big stones into area. The party captured a couple worker
goblins and they say that a demon temple is being constructed.
What the goblin slave said
1. Great Temple to Evil Demon being built underground and to ancient
unholy spot
2. Construction of structure at ancient unholy spot being handled by
Warlord Grenne (hobgoblin)
3. Enlargement of cavern above main temple under supervision of
Yulhin Builder (goblin) and Master Herge (goblin)
4. Construction of Great Temple under supervision of Trevhar the
Bastard (bugbear) and his bugbear horde
5. Outsider demons helping consecrate the temple and prepare for the
worship of the Great Master (the demon).
B. Sheriff Hagimon has sent for reinforcements to the Baron because a group of 200-300 goblins has been seen in the area
2. Ginna Bandits. Bandits in Ginna have robbed some influential merchants. Sheriff Hagimon has not leads as to who they are exactly, but expects they are tied with the Bandits of the Marsh.
A. What Gaak Overheard
1. The people on the boat are definitely connected to the Bandits of
the Marsh
2. Eulysses, a human, was on the boat and is a high status member of
the Bandits of the Marsh
3. Maedelwyn, the elf, is some type of liaison assisting the human
Bandits
4. The Bandits are stockpiling pure silver for dealing with the "rat"
problem in Persea
B. Burned Elf Trader house investigated by a human named Eulysses, who bribed one of the guards
C. Sheriff Hagimon concerned of reports of a Bandit leader named Eulysses has been seen in Ginna.
D. Three merchants of Ginna provide a small retainer to the party of 250 gp each because of the drop in crime.
3. Centaur Scouts. Centaur scouting patrols wandering through the area. Godfather would prefer that they do not travel the area with impunity.
4. Kobold Clans. Annoyingly, the local kobold infestations are quite frequent this year. Probably due to displacement from the more organized inhumans. The river valley between Quin and Galera is particularly infested. The sheriff can show the locations of several camps and ad hoc cavern homes.
5. Outcasts of Big Gut Raiders (of Big Gut's Land). Led by Master Unil, a half-fiend ogre who is a warrior/rouge. Master Unil and his gang live near Ohi town ruins, see Persea locations. Master Unil has sent several patrols into the Baron's lands and the local sheriff would like help chasing them away or killing them.
6. Dwarven Construction. A barely organized group of Dwarves are constructing a building and tunnels near White Tower Tunnels. Their purpose is not know, but local scavengers (especially vultures) have been eating the gnoll bodies the dwarves have left outside.
7. Nyla the Hag. Nyla and her corrupted humanoids have caused problems for the Baron for quite some time. The Baron has a bounty of 25gp per corrupted head brought to him or a local sheriff. He will also pay for any of her disembodied heads, if still alive. Her lair is in the White Tower Tunnels, but her minions can be found wandering nearby, searching for bodies or alchemical ingredients to bring back.
8. Wanted Posters. The Baron has wanted posters posted for known rebels, crimminals, tax evaders, etc. He tries to have posters in the correct area of his realm, so looking at the local posters should pay off. Being close associates of the sheriff should allow the party to have any leads the sheriff knows of.
9. Dragonne. Flying in the area near Tusla, a dragonne has been spotted, but other than some of the Baron's game animals taken, it's presence has not ben felt.
10. Hippogriff Nest. The sheriff knows where a nested pair of hippogriffs are. The eggs or young, if recovered, would be very valuable.
11. Inhuman fringe groups. Dozens of small groups of up to fifty goblinoids and others can be found all around the Barony. At least a dozen larger groups of around a hundred or more can be found around the Barony too.
12. Quin Crimminal Gang. A crimminal gang in Quin targeting merchantile activity and travellers. The local deputy has identified the hiding spot in a cave in a forest just outside town.
13. Wily Troll. A wily troll has raided multiple farms and has been very difficult to track. The troll even killed a local merchant transporting coinage and valuables from the city and for some reason the troll took these too. (Of course he ate the body of the mercant and his guards.)
Other Adventure Areas
No leads to be posted at least for a couple weeks.
